C.O.R.E. Rules

Welcome to C.O.R.E.

So you found the best place on the web to get your fix of some good old fashion D&D.  Tabletop is a blast but when you just don’t have time to meet up with your friends, C.O.R.E. can fill the gap.

There are some C.O.R.E. rules here that are really easy to follow and generally accepted by all of the Moderators on site.  We preserve the Moderators right to run campaigns as they see fit but collectively the GMs try to create a consistent RPing environment so players can travel around the boards and still have fun and expect some of level accountability.  So on with the basic rules:

How to get started?
Visit the Campaign Setting you would like to play
Create a Yuku Account with the Name of your PC
Log in with your newly created account
Visit the Character Sheet Forum and create your PCs
Visit the Adventure Listings forum and sign up for an adventure.
Or post a thread at the City Gates in any of the active cities.
A Moderator will respond to your post

Finagling? What is Finagling?
Just as you cannot create places things and people in real life, your character may not create Non Player Characters, items that you have not bought or have not role-played acquiring, such as sitting in a chair after you walk into a bar or even the bar itself.

When a Player Character begins doing this a Game Master (GM) will refer to it as Finagling and will ask you to stop.  There may be times that minor Finagling may be permitted, but this is completely up the moderating GM’s playing style but most of the time Finagling is not allowed.

3rd Edition, 3.5 Edition or 4th edition?
The best part about C.O.R.E. is we are only limited by the GMs running a specific version of the game.  Over all C.O.R.E. is heading towards supporting 4th edition as the edition of choice by Moderators.  But at times GMs have run small adventures and campaigns in the older game formats.

The down side of running older versions is that a PC used by one Moderator may not be able to be moderated by another.  So building and running a PC in the game’s current edition is best.

Concurrent Timelines
Because we play by post there is the a desire to play a PC in multiple adventures run by different moderators. This causes tons of trouble with inventory and experience and gods forbid you die in one adventure. So it is the standing rule of the board not to allow concurrent timelines. There are Moderators that may allow this for non-essential RPing threads but inquire with the local moderators before you start any Concurrent Timelines.
